My family met the Miller family at a local eatery in Ashford Park/Brookhaven. Our paths crossed as so often happens by the unruly behavior of our adorable children. In spite of being new to Atlanta I immediately recognized the name Trey Miller and his face as I thought, “ this is the guy who keeps putting his ‘house for sale this way’ sign up on the corner of the house we are renting.” Our meeting was random and pleasant as we adults exchanged niceties and my son ate the French fries his daughters dropped on the ground…the usual.
A few days later I was delighted to find a fresh farmed package of eggs in my mailbox. This being the first marketing package of eggs I had ever received, I knew I now had no other option but to strongly consider using Trey when and if we decided to buy a house in Atlanta.Time marched on and as our time in Ashford Park turned into six months, which turned into a year, which turned in to a year and a half, we began to become very comfortable with Ashford Park (primarily because of the cheap tacos which make the margaritas seem that much more affordable at Verde). We felt strongly that we had found a place that we could call home and wanted to begin the process house shopping.Our first, and what ultimately became our only choice was Ashford Park. If we could not buy in Ashford Park we were going to keep renting in Ashford Park. Our purchase budget severely hampered our taste budget. However, Trey never faltered in his belief that we would eventually decide to spend more than we wanted to, and enthusiastically continued to show us houses we could not afford.
Fortunately, this blog, which incidentally is much longer than 250 words so I should get bonus points on the ipad contest, has a happy ending. Through Trey’s creative genius we were able to contract on a house we could not afford in Ashford Park, and I mean that in a good way. While this blog is a bit ridiculous it is true. Through Trey’s hard work, creativity and willingness to think outside the box we are soon to be the fortunate owners of a house we could never have dreamed of having in the exact neighborhood we dreamed of living
